PABCON Combined Championships kicks off today with Men's and Women's Singles

    Almost 200 athletes from 18 countries to compete for medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team, All Events and Masters in Las Vegas; all the action will be broadcast live on BOWL.com's BowlTV; event serves as the qualifier for the 2013 WTBA Combined World Championships;

    2012PCLogo2.jpg 2012PCKevinDornberger.jpg The PABCON Combined Championships got underway with the Opening Ceremonies Sunday evening at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas. Among the speakers was WTBA and FIQ President Kevin Dornberger (pictured left).

    Almost 200 Athletes from 18 countries will compete for medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team, All Events and Masters with all the action being broadcast live on BOWL.com's BowlTV. Competition begins today with Singles at 8 a.m. Pacific.

    The event will also serve as the qualifier for the 2013 World Tenpin Bowling Association World Championships.

     Since the start of the PABCON Championships, formerly the American Zone Championships, in 1961, the United States has claimed 106 of a possible 172 gold medals.

    Team USA (pictured, click image to enlarge) will send a mix of veterans and newcomers to the event. Patrick Allen, John Janawicz, Steve Smith, Bill O'Neill, Tommy Jones and Marshall Kent comprise the men's team, while the women's team will have Liz Johnson, Stefanie Nation, Josie Earnest, Diandra Asbaty, Shannon Pluhowsky and Leanne Hulsenberg.
