2015EBT11MikaKoivuniemi2_small.jpgThe qualifying leaderboard of the 11th Storm San Marino Open got a whole new look as nine players, three each from squads 12, 13 and 14, moved into the top 12 Thursday at Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle, San Marino. Two-time PBA Player of the Year Mika Koivuniemi (pictured), a Finnish native who lives in Hartland, Michigan, United States, overtook previous leader Peter Hellström of Sweden by just one pin to lead the field of 193 players from 19 countries with 1493 total and an average of 248.83 for six games.

No changes atop the leaderboard in San Marino Open in Wednesday's Squads 9-11

Dreyer, Moor, Lorenc and Spacey atop the leaderboard of Squads 9-14 to earn automatic spots for the finals; score to make the cut in 35th place is now 1277 (212.83 average)

Dirk Dreyer (r.) of Germany paced Wednesday's qualifying with 1366 to leap into 14th place in the overall standing. Dreyer finished hi set with a huge 279 game to position himself atop the separate standings of Squads 9-14.

Belgian shoots third 1400-series of the 11th San Marino Open; Italian Davide Spagnoli shoots the second perfecto of the event; score to make the cut in 35th place is currently 1250 (208.33 average)

2015EBT11JohnnyFronville_small.jpg Johnny Fronville (pictured) of Belgium became the third player in the 11th Storm San Marino Open to surpass the 1400-mark Tuesday at Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle, San Marino. Fronville led Squad 7 with 1408 and an average of 234.67, including games of 236, 237, 248, 239, 248 and 200 to join the elite club. Peter Hellström, a two-time European Bowling Tour titlist from Sweden, continued to lead the field of 126 players from 11 countries with 1492 total and an average of 248.67.

Bianca Wiekeraad, Patrick Meka book tickets to Las Vegas with victory in Dutch Bowling Tour

In the women's title match in best-of-three games format, 25-year-old Wiekeraad defated Cheska Tomas, 2-1. Meka, 24, swept top-seeded Michell Stinissen, 2-0, to capture the men's title.

Swede shoots 1492 series to lead the 106-player field by 71 pins; six players of Monday's Squads 5 & 6 move into the top 10; score to make the cut in 35th place is now the 1237 (206.17 average)

Hellström, whose last EBT title came in the Norwegian Open 2012, rolled 55 strikes for 1492 total, including games of 224, 244, 243, 244, 258 and 279, to lead the field of 106 players from 10 countries by 71 pins. Total six players of Monday's Squads 5 & 6 moved into the top 10.

Tal and Cohen win the 26th Israeli Bowling World Cup Qualifier to represent their country in Las Vegas

Cohen topped 2013 World Cup winner Or Aviram, 3-2, to defend the men's title.

Angie Brown, Frank Börner win Eliminator Finals in Böblingen Senior Open

2015ISBT06FrankBornerAngieBrown_small.jpgDefending champion Angie Brown (r.) of England and Frank Börner (l.) of Germany were the last players standing in the Eliminator Round Finals at the 3rd Böblingen Senior Open to win the sixth stop on the 2015 International Seniors Bowling Tour Sunday at Dream-Bowl in Böblingen, Germany. It was the second victory this season for Brown who is the all-time ISBT title leader with 13 wins, and it also marked the first career win on the ISBT for Börner.

6th edition of the made-for-TV event features eight TV finals, four men and four women, in four cities in France (Nov. 2-7, 2015)

2015QBPCStMalo_small.jpg Tournament manager Bruno Bidone has announced the women's team rosters for the first stage of the 2015 QubicaAMF Bowling Promotion Cup Tour. The sixth edition of the made-for-TV Tour will be contested from Nov. 2-7 in bowling centers in four different cities in France, Bowling Skittle in Chateaubriant, Silverbowl in Angers, Bowling Le Belem in Dinan and Extra Bowl in Ballainvilliers. Each of the eight shows will air on French television networks and on the internet free of charge.

Yoan Alix shoots first 1400-series to take over qualifying lead in San Marino Open

French bowler leads the 79-player field after the first weekend with 1421 total; top 3 earn automatic berths into the finals; score to make the cut in 35th place nears the 1200-mark

2015EBT11YoanAlix_small.jpgYoan Alix (pictured) of France became the first player of the 11th Storm San Marino Open who surpassed the 1400-mark when he amassed a 1421 six-game total in Squad 4 Sunday afternoon at Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle. The French national team member came out of the gates commandingly with 244 and 247, was even par in the next two games (225, 175) and finished strong with 261 and 269 to take over the qualifying lead in the 79-player field from nine countries after the first weekend.

Maurizio Celli averages over 230 to take the early lead in San Marino

11th Storm San Marino Open starts with 299, 300 and five 1300 series

Forty-seven bowlers, 46 men and one woman, hit the lanes at Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle in Saturday's Squads 1 & 2 to kick off the 11th edition of the Storm San Marino Open. Maurizio Celli (l.) of Italy averaged 233.17 for six games to take the early lead in the European Bowling Tour "gold" tournament. Francois Sacco (r.) of France sits in second place with 1362. Third-place Nicola Pongolini of Italy rolled the tournament's first 300 game.

2015 European Bowling Tour commences with 11th Storm San Marino Open

EBT "gold" tournament runs from July 11-19 and offers total prize fund of more than 60.000 Euro

2015EBT11SanMarinoOpenLogo_small.jpg The 2015 European Bowling Tour commences with the 11th Storm San Marino Open which will be held July 11-19 at 18-lane Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle, San Marino. The tournament is the first out of three EBT "Gold" tournaments this season and offers total prize fund of 61.050 Euro with 8.000 Euro going to the winner. Qualifying of the San Marino Open runs from Saturday July 11 through Saturday, July 18 and concludes with the one-game Desperado Squad slated for 10 p.m. CEST.

Paul Moor, Laura Beuthner come from behind to win EBT Masters 2015

In an all-lefty men's title match, Moor topped Brunswick Madrid Challenge winner and No. 1 seed Jesper Svensson, a two-handed player from Sweden, 224-216, while Beuther defeated top-seeded Diana Zavjalova of Latvia, 191-180.

It was the second win on the 2015 Tour for Morra and the first for Rolland. The 2015 Italian Senior Open attracted an entry list of 88 men and 21 women

Swede Jesper Svensson dominates III Brunswick Madrid Challenge from start to finish

2015EBT10Top3_small.jpgCurrent men's European Bowling Tour point ranking leader Jesper Svensson (right) from Sweden posted one last high game in the title match of the third edition of the Brunswick Madrid Challenge to win his fourth career EBT title and the 6.000 first prize. The 20-year-old two-handed southpaw defeated fellow youth national team member Jenny Wegner (c.) in an all-Swedish affair, 248-186. Wegner advanced to the title match with 212-204 victory over Joonas Jehkinen (l.), Finland.

The two-handed lefty, who leads the European Bowling Tour men's point ranking, toppled 1490 pins, an average of 248.33. In addition to a 750 Euro bonus Svensson and the other top-10 bowlers received two byes. 34 men and 16 women advanced to the finals starting Sunday, July 5, at 9 a.m. CEST.

The reigning World Youth Masters champion and three-time EBT titlist had games of 279, 198, 253, 216, 299 and 245 for 1490 (248.33) to overtake previous leader Ildemaro Ruiz Jr. of Venezuela by mere three pins.

Diana Zavjalova (r.) of Latvia was mere four pins behind with 1340 to take over sixth place.
