Heim (pictured), who has consulted with more than 40 bowling entertainment centers nationwide to help them reach their sales and operating profit goals through his consulting firm Cornerstone Consulting and previously served as Director of International Operations for Brunswick and VP of Operations for Main Event Entertainment, will present on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. local time.

Heim's Learning Lab session, part of the newly revamped Education Series at the annual Bowling Summit, will help proprietors better understand how consumers' food and beverage trends directly impact their operations by sharing insights from his more than 30-years of food and beverage and bowling industry expertise.

Classically trained at Cornell's Restaurant Management program, Heim will present recent trends in food and beverage consumption outside the home including:

    • "Green" and "Local" movements
    • What's new in beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic
    • Portioning and Pricing Tactics
    • Hot flavors, products and concepts
    • Equipment improvements
    • The 2012 cost landscape

"Rick's operational experience is unmatched in the bowling industry. Throughout his career he has helped drive growth and sales within the family entertainment and traditional bowling center categories," said Bart Burger, vice president of Business Development with BPAA.

"His insights will be valuable to our proprietors as they seek new ways to drive sales and reach profit goals at their centers."

Heim's session is part of the newly revamped education series and conference schedule aimed to reduce and most efficiently utilize the time required for proprietors to be away from their centers.

Additional guest speakers and presenters will be announced leading up to the 2012 Bowling Summit.

The BPAA's annual Bowling Summit is the premier annual strategic midwinter conference for bowling center proprietors, managers and industry leaders, offering education, networking and industry insights on new and upcoming products.

The 2012 Bowling Summit will be held from January 22 to 24 at the Meritage Resort in Napa Valley, California. Registration for the 2012 Bowling Summit has been reduced to $99 for BPAA members until December 19, 2011.
