Missy Parkin wins Women's Bowling Alliance Queens title

    2012WBAQueensMissyParkin.jpg Women's Bowling Alliance Champion Missy Parkin of Lake Forest, Calif., led wire to wire en route to win the Women's Bowling Alliance Queens title at Sunset Station's Strike Zone bowling center in suburban Las Vegas, Nev. Parkin outdistanced USBC Hall of Famer and recent U.S. Open Senior Champion Robin Romeo, Newhall, Calif., by 149 pins and the rest of the field by 335 pins or more.

    The recent Bowling's U.S. Women's Open TV show finalist averaged 226 during qualifying on the Kegel Winding Road pattern, then 220 with a 7-1 match play record on Sunday. Lindsay Boomershine of Brigham, Utah was third and defending champion Tina Stickney of Phoenix, Ariz., finished fourth.

    Parkin received the $2,000 winner's check, 2013 USBC Queens entry, tiara, WBA Meritage wine, charm bracelet and a bouquet of flowers for claiming the second Annual WBA Queens title.

    Saturday's qualifying was led by Parkin while Christina Kinney of Las Vegas notched the final spot averaging 204.6. Many followers watched the live streaming action on the InsideBowling.com Channel all weekend long and a recorded version of the final match play game can be seen here.

    2012WBAQueensAngelaMorgan.jpg In the handicap Princess division, Angela Morgan (pictured right with Paula Vidad, left) of San Francisco, Calif., defeated new owner of 8-lane Boulder Bowl, Diana Cavins, by 22 pins to capture the championship. Morgan was elated receiving her tiara and said, "I could get used to this."

    The Princess division bowls with the scratch women bowlers during qualifying to enhance their tournament experience and allows them to participate with some of the best bowlers in the world.
