Israel announces Team for the 2014 Men's World Championship in Abu Dhabi

The Israel Bowling Federation has announced the six-player team for the 2014 Men's World Championship in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Israeli Team Trials concluded Saturday, February 1, at the bowling center of Petach Tikva.

All players bowled 30 games over 5 days, four six-game series on two oil conditions (long and short) and six games on dual/mixed oil conditions.

The 2014 Men's World Championships will be held from November 8-19 at Khalifa International Bowling Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The 40-laner was officially opened in 1998 in Zayed Sports City to host the 14th Bowling World Championships in 1999. KIBC map. Click image to enlarge.

In the past, Israeli players were denied a visa by the UAE, and thus prevented Israel from playing at the 1999 Worlds.

"I hope that there will be no problems to get visas for Abu Dhabi," wrote Arie Fisher, President of the Israel Bowling Federation.

"We are dealing with sport of bowling and I am looking forward and I believe that the Israeli team will be able to participate in this year's World Men Championship despite the fact that there are no diplomatic relationships between Israel and UAE. Knowing that other Israeli sportsmen have participated in championships hosted by the UAE this year gives me confidence."
