Led by newly-appointed pro shop services manager, Jeff Ussery, the new brand will also include technical services and instruction under the company's Powerhouse™ Training Clinics program.

"During the course of our Columbia Industries asset purchase, we determined that we needed to maintain distinct brand messages and missions with each of our consumer and commercial products brands, including our pro shop equipment, training and supplies business, in order to best serve our industry," said Bob Reid, Ebonite International's vice president of marketing. "From a manufacturing and logistical perspective, it just makes sense to have all of our supply and equipment offerings to the pro shop under one umbrella.

"And, we've selected Jeff Ussery, our resident pro shop business expert, to head our efforts to rebrand and build upon this very important piece of business. He's committed to the success of pro shops and he's deeply involved in the education and growth of the pro shop community. Both are necessary attributes for the good of the bowler, the pro shop, the bowling center and the manufacturer."

The Powerhouse™ brand will include everything from polishes and mill machines to merchandising fixtures and Abralon® Sanding Pads. Balls, bags and bowler accessories will remain under each respective brand (Ebonite, Hammer, Columbia 300, Track and Dyno-Thane) with Powerhouse™ Training Clinics and the Pro Shop Help Desk Hotline moving to the Powerhouse™ brand.

Ussery will oversee all aspects of the brand and is charged with the daily management of the entire line, continued focus on training programs and the enrichment of these courses as well as working with the ball brand managers to offer the pro shop customer a seamless stream of information regarding Powerhouse™ products and services.

Ussery is a 2000 graduate of the University of Kansas and a former pro shop owner and operator. Prior to joining Ebonite International as a master instructor for Powerhouse™ Training Clinics, Ussery worked with Jayhawk Bowling Supply's pro shop equipment division. He and his wife recently relocated to Clarksville, Tenn.

"Those who know me know that I am passionate about the pro shop business and I firmly believe that education, training and technical services are key components of owning and operating a profitable pro shop. The new Powerhouse™ brand is an extension of Ebonite International's efforts to support pro shops as they seek to build better businesses and thus better bowlers. It's a perfect complement to the additional products and services offered by the company," said Ussery.
