Christel Carlsson named new head coach for Swedish Women's National Team

The Swedish Bowling Federation has announced that former international Christel Carlsson will become the new head coach of the women's national team. The contract is valid for two years and Carlsson will coach the team until the Women's World Championship in Melbourne, Australia, in 2009.
Carlsson has named ten players for Team Sweden in preparation for the 2008 Women's European Championships in Odense, Denmark.
The team consists of Diana Alfredsson, Therese Forsell, Ellinor Heneskär, Eva Jönsson, Veronica Lantto, Rebecka Larsen, Åsa Wetterlund, Nina Flack, Malin Glendert and Helén Johnsson.
Three months ago Flack, Glendert and Johnsson (r-l) won the gold medal in trios in the Women's World Championships in Monterrey, Mexico.
The world champions were selected as one of four candidates for the nation's "Sports Team of the Year". The winner will be announced at the annual Sports Gala in Stockholm on January 14, 2008.

Flack, Glendert and Johnsson, who will be present at the live televised gala, are competing against the men's national soccer team, the men's cross country skiing relay team (bronze in world championships) and the biathlon mixed relay team (gold in world championships).
