IBMHOF raises $25,000, elects new leadership at Bowl Expo

2014IBMHOFLogo_small.jpg While not as busy as usual, the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame still had an eventful week at International Bowl Expo June 22-26 in Orlando, Fla. Even without the traditional Salute to Bowling this year, the IBMHOF still raised more than $25,000. Outgoing IBMHOF president/chairman of the board Keith Hamilton, who was stepping down after serving three terms as president/chairman will be followed by Industry veteran Bob Gudorf, executive vice president of Classic Products Corp.

Mark Davis receives John Davis Award for 2014

2014JohnDavisAwardMarkDavis_small.jpg Mark Davis (pictured with Len Nicholson, left), younger brother of the late John Davis, founder of the Kegel Company, has been named the 2014 recipient of the John Davis Award. The surprise presentation was made at International Bowl Expo in Orlando, Fla. The award is presented annually to a deserving person who is actively involved in trying to advance the sport of bowling. A perpetual plaque, bearing each recipient's name, is on permanent display at the Kegel Training Center in Lake Wales, Fla.

The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA) invited the two-term president and former Texas governor to participate in a roundtable discussion at this year's Bowl Expo, which will be held from June 22-26 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla.

Bowl Expo 2014 offers new educational opportunities

Off-site trip to Disney Locations and on-site Super Hospitality Session will focus on Business Philosophy, Hospitality Management

2014IBELogo_small.jpg The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA) announced two educational opportunities at International Bowl Expo Xtreme 2014 in Orlando, Florida, June 22-27, 2014. Monday afternoon, June 23, is an additional fee, off-site "The Business Behind The Magic Tour" at nearby Disney locations. On Tuesday afternoon, June 24, two faculty members from the University of Central Florida (UCF) Rosen College of Hospitality Management will facilitate a "Hospitality Management Super Session".

Bowl Expo to reveal Disney Customer Service secrets

Former Disney training head Doug Lipp to kick off Monday, June 23, Educational Program

2014IBELogo2_small.jpg The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA) has announced Doug Lipp, former head of Disney University's training team, will kick off the educational programming with a Thought Leader Session at International Bowl Expo Xtreme 2014 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida, June 22-26, 2014. The session is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. EST, Monday, June 23, following BPAA's annual meeting. The session, sponsored by Brunswick, kicks off two days of educational seminars and workshops.
