Surasak Manuwong, Sharon Limansantoso finish 2013 ABF Tour with victory in TOC

ABFTourLogo_small.jpgSurasak Manuwong of Thailand and Indonesia's Sharon Limansantoso finished the 2013 Asian Bowling Federation Tour with victory in the Tournament of Champions Monday in Kuwait. In the men's title match, Manuwong posted the highest game of the day to defeat Wicky Yeung of Hong Kong, 226-191. Limansantoso captured her second women's crown after 2010 by defeating Hong Kong's Milki Ng, 199-178. Manuwong pocketed the US$20,000 top prize. Limansantoso received $10,000.

2013 ABF Tour - Schedule & Champions

ABFTourLogo_small.jpg The 2013 ABF Tour consisted of nine legs, five in the Middle East with a men's division only and four in East and South East Asia featuring men and women in separate divisions. Players earned ranking points based on how they finished in each event. The top 16 men and the top 16 women at the end of the 2013 season qualified for the ABF Tour Tournament of Champions scheduled for March 16-17, 2014 in Kuwait.

Monday's finals feature one-game matches. The men's champion receives the US$20,000 top prize while the women's champion gets US$10,000.

Kuwait's Jassim Darwish ends 2013 ABF Tour with victory in Saudi Arabia leg

A foul and a six-count in the 10th frame by Qatari Khaled Al-Doseri decides the title match

2013ABFT09JassimDarwish_small.jpg Jassim Darwish (pictured) of Kuwait ended the 2014 Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) Tour with victory in the Saudi Arabia leg Tuesday, December 17, at Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh. In the title match, Darwish defeated Khaled Al-Doseri of Qatar, 201-186. Darwish finished the title match first, but could not put much pressure on Al-Doseri. When the Qatari got up, all he needed was a mark to wrap up the title. A foul and a six-count on the second ball handed the first Tour victory to the Kuwaiti on a silver plate.

Mohammed Al-Saud lands first ABF Tour victory in the UAE

Saudi Arabian prince averages over 240 in single-elimination shoot-out matches


Mohammed Al-Saud (pictured), a member of the Saudi Arabian royal family, averaged 242.25 and won four consecutive matches Sunday at Dubai International Bowling Center in Al Mamzar en route to claim his first title on the Asian Bowling Federation Tour in the UAE leg. In the title match, the Saudi Arabian prince defeated Anthony Balabbo of the Philippines, 233-212. The men's ABF Tour will conclude on Tuesday, December 17 with the Saudi Arabia leg in Riyadh.

Ryan Lalisang, Kim Eun Jung emerge as champions at ABF Tour Indonesia leg

Novie Phang defeats Kim in women's finale before she was disqualified for technical issues with her bowling ball

2013ABFT07RyanLalisangKimEunJung_small.jpgRyan Lalisang of Indonesia and South Korea's Kim Eun Jung (l-r) emerged as men's and women's champion in the ABF Tour Indonesia leg Monday at Jaya Ancol Bowl in Jakarta. In the men's championship match Lalisang flew past Surasak Manuwong of Thailand, 235-161, to claim his fifth career ABF Tour title. Kim fell to Indonesia's Novie Phang in the women's finale, 231-227. Phang, however, was disqualified "for technical issues in the bowling ball" and Jung was declared the winner.

Macau bowler Tak Man rolls 300 game on the way to his first ABFT title; Netvrseth captures her third victory on the Tour

In the men's title match, local favorite Tak Man defeated 2013 Macau Open champion Cheng Hsing-Chao of Chinese Taipei, 206-188, to claim his first title on the Tour. Netvrseth won her third career ABFT title with a 214-155 victory over Veronica Dias, Macau.

Rakan Al Amiri, Milki Ng emerge as ABF Tour Hong Kong leg champions


Rakan Al Amiri of Kuwait and Milki Ng of Hong Kong (pictured l-r) emerged as men's and women's champions in the Asian Bowling Federation Tour Hong Kong leg Wednesday at South China Athletic Association Bowling Center in Hong Kong, China. It was the first victory on the ABF Tour for both players. Al-Amiri flew past Hareb Al-Mansoori, UAE, in the men's title match, 222-151, and Ng topped Gloria Yung, 200-159, to wrap up the women's title.

Ayman Hashem wins back-to-back international titles in Cairo

One day after winning the Sinai International Open, Hashem becomes the first Egyptian Asian Bowling Federation Tour winner with victory in the Egypt leg

One day after he won the 15th Sinai International Open at IBC, Hashem became the first Egyptian bowler to win an ABF Tour title.

Sam Cooley, Wendy Chai win men's and women's title in ABF Tour Thailand leg

Strike Bowl Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi, Thailand. Cooley earned his first title on the tour with a 237-195 victory over local favorite Dechochai Tinjiratip. Chai defeated Sharon Limansantoso in the women's title match, 216-188, for her fourth career ABFT title.

Al-Awami put the match away with a six-bagger and a nine-count on the fill ball, while Ibrahim suffered three consecutive splits.

Hussain Al-Suwaidi starts 2013 Asian Bowling Federation Tour with victory in Bahrain


Hussain Al-Suwaidi (pictured left with Abdulla Al-Dosery, President of Bahrain Bowling Association) defeated local favorite Ahmed A. Jabbar (r.) of Bahrain, 245-191, to win the season-opening event of the 2013 Asian Bowling Federation Tour Saturday at Ozone Entertainment Center in Bahrain. It was the fifth career ABF Tour title for the UAE bowler, who has won titles in Kuwait (2008, 2010), Thailand (2009) and the 2010 ABF Tour Tournament of Champions.
