Prior to that victory, Hess had earned a one-year exemption for the 2011-2012 season by placing in the top 10 at the Regional Players Invitational in December of 2010. Hess has been a member of the PBA since 2003, and he currently has seven PBA 300 games.

After the PBA National and Regional seasons were complete, he was named the 2010-2011 PBA Midwest Region Player of the Year. Hess was also the 2003 PBA Midwest Region Rookie of the Year, a three-time Iowa State Champion, and was elected to the Greater Des Moines Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2011.

"I spent many of my days growing up practicing and dreaming of becoming a professional bowler, now getting that opportunity is truly a dream come true," said Hess.

"We are very happy to add Tom Hess to the Brunswick Pro Staff. Tom is an intense competitor who knows how to win. We look forward to seeing Tom represent Brunswick on the PBA Tour," said Brian Graham, marketing and sales director for Brunswick Consumer Products.

Hess joins Brunswick Pro Staff members and PBA Hall of Famers Parker Bohn III, Johnny Petraglia, and Walter Ray Williams, Jr., as well as Ryan Ciminelli, Chris Loschetter, Sean Rash, Tony Reyes, and Tom Smallwood.
