    ABFLogo_small.jpg2011HKTBCLogo_small.jpg The Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress (HKTBC), host of the 22nd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships has released the fourth and last Bulletin for Asia's most prestigious championships, which will be held from Sept. 2-11, 2012 at Hong Kong Bowling City, a 48-laner in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong.

    Bulletin No. 4 (click to download) contains information on the two oil pattern - a 36 ft. short pattern and a 41 ft. medium pattern, which will be conditioned by Kegel using the battery powered Kustodian ION Sport Model. Lane conditioner and lane cleaner of choice for the championships are Infinity and Defense C.

    Also included in the bulletin are information on the qualifying criteria for the Combined World Championships in Henderson, Nev., USA (aug. 18-31, 2013) and the World Games in Cali, Colombia (July 25 - Aug. 4, 2013).

    The 22nd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships will be hosted at bowling center Hong Kong Bowling City at EMAX mall in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong. The 48-laner opened its doors in 2008 and has hosted international tournaments and championships since such as the 20th Asian Championships, the 2011 Women's World Championships as well as the annual Hong Kong International Open and the Hong Kong ABF Tour leg.

    After the withdrawal of Kazakhstan, 23 out of 38 member federations of the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) have confirmed participation: Australia, Bahrain, China, Chinese Taipei, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, North Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, UAE, Uzbekistan and the host country Hong Kong.

    Each team will consist of maximum six male and six female bowlers. Men and women will compete in separate divisions for gold, silver and bronze medals in six disciplines: Singles, Doubles, Trios, 5-player Team, All Events and Masters.

    Singles (six games on short oil) and Doubles (six games on long oil) will be contested on one oil pattern, while Trios and Team will feature both oil patterns (three games on each pattern). The players with the highest pinfall total after six games will be declared the champions.

    The top 16 players in All Events (24 games; combined pinfall in Singles, Doubles, Trios and Team event) will advance to the Masters finals which will be played on both lane conditions.

    The top 12 countries in each gender with the highest All Events total of the top five players will qualify for the 2013 Combined World Championships. The top eight countries with the highest All Events total of the top five players - men and women - will qualify for the 2013 World Games. Countries, who don't send a complete men's and women's team (minimum five players each) aren't eligible to compete for the World Games spots.
