Cormier has 25 years of experience in the Sporting Goods industry, working with such storied brands as Nicklaus Golf Equipment Company, The Coleman Company, Head Sports, Fila and Prince Sports Group.

Cormier is looking forward to working in the bowling industry, particularly with Ebonite International. He will work closely with Bob Reid (right), recently named Vice President of Global Sales.

The company's sales and marketing efforts were split and the new position was created when Vice President of International Mike Quitter (left) announced his retirement.

"I am beyond excited to join the Ebonite International family," said Cormier. "The bowling community is a tight-knit, passionate group, and I'm honored to join the industry leader."

Most recently, Cormier was the founder and owner of Stew-Cor, a Marketing Consulting firm in Stuart, Fla. Prior to consulting, Cormier spent five years with Nicklaus Golf Equipment Company as Global Marketing Director. In his time there, Cormier developed and launched over 100 new products, working closely with famed golfer Jack Nicklaus. His varied experience with different markets illustrates a common goal among all sports marketers: focus on consumers.

"Throughout my career, my focus has been and will continue to be on studying and translating the ever-changing needs of consumers," explained Cormier. "We have a fantastically talented team at Ebonite International, and I look to complement them by bringing the voice of the consumer front and center."

EboniteCEORandySchickert.jpgEbonite International CEO Randy Schickert (left) believes Cormier's experience in marketing top sporting goods brands will be a plus for the marketing team.

"Jim's experience dealing with teaching pros and specialty pro shop owners will fit well into bowling," Schickert explained. "Jim is a top-notch marketer with strategic branding and activation strategies. His skill set will aid us in maintaining and growing our #1 market share position as the 'World's Best Bowling Company.'"

Originally from New England, Cormier and his wife Gretchen are in the process of moving to Hopkinsville, Ky., along with their 12-year old Maggie, a Border Collie/Shepherd mix. Their two adult children are currently attending the University of South Florida. In his spare time, Cormier enjoys golf, tennis, bowling and woodworking, and is an avid sports fan.
