Jason Belmonte (pictured) of Orange, New South Wales, Australia, has been named the October 2012 Kegel Bowler of the Month by the International Bowling Media Association.

Belmonte claimed the 50th AMF Australian Masters title and his fifth PBA crown defeating Sean Rash, Montgomery, Illinois, two-games-to-one in the best-of-three finals.

Belmonte took the first game, 174-172. In the second match, Rash picked up the scoring pace with a 255-233 win. In a tight title game, the 2009 PBA Harry Golden Rookie of the Year award winner threw a clutch double in the tenth frame to seal a 256-243 win.

After qualifying in third place, Belmonte downed fellow Australians, the sixth-seeded and 2002 champion, Michael Little, in the quarterfinals and number two seed, Chris Purdue, in the semifinals, both 2-0 in the best-of-three matches.

Rash qualified as the top-seeded player and ousted eighth-seeded Eric Tseng, Hong Kong, 2-0 in the quarterfinals. The number four seed, Chris Castle, Australia, fell 2-0 in semifinal action.

Others receiving votes were Chris Barnes, winner of the 10th Columbia 300 Vienna Open; Diandra Asbaty, women's winner of the 50th Australian Masters; Anne Marie Duggan, winner of the USBC Senior Queens; Peter Hellström, winner of the Norwegian Open 2012 by Brunswick; Clara Guerrero, winner of the PBA Southwest Region Young and Pratt Austin Open; and Cho Young-Seon, winner of World Bowling Tour Thailand.
