2011WTBALogo.jpg 2013WorldBowlingLogo.jpgThe World Tenpin Bowling Association, tenpin bowling's world governing body, has introduced the "World Bowling" brand and logo.

Kevin Dornberger, President and CEO of the WTBA and President of the Federation Internationale des Quilleurs, made the official presentation at the FIQ and WTBA Congresses, which were held right after the conclusion of the WTBA World Championships, Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1, at Sunset Station Hotel in Henderson, Nev., United States.

"Tenpin Bowling is truly a global sport and I believe, we could be a valuable member of the International Olympic Committee. But to reach our goal to become an Olympic sport, we need more visibility. We needed a recognizable brand (logo), and now, we have one," Dornberger said.

Prior to his presidency, Dornberger was the first COO and CEO of the United States Bowling Congress after bowling's biggest federation moved from Milwaukee, Wis., to Arlington, Texas.

The WTBA has made enormous progress under Dornberger's leadership from an old fashioned to a modern, forward-thinking organization.

The shirts are actually collectors' items as they aren't available for sale, at the moment. "People cannot buy the shirts right now, but it's planned for the future," Dornberger said. As the samples were only in certain sizes (extra-large was the biggest) to reduce costs, some delegates were left out.

Though introduced to the FIQ delegates first, the WTBA owns the rights to the new brand and the logo, which has been designed by Hong Kong star designer William Chan.

2013WTBACongress2.jpgThe FIQ combines the member federations of WTBA and the World Ninepin Bowling Association. After the FIQ Congress expelled six federations because not paying the dues, the FIQ now has 136 members worldwide, 110 federations belong to the WTBA and 26 are members of the WNBA.

TSE Consulting, an international consulting firm specialized in sport, assisted the WTBA in creating the new brand and logo.

Headquartered in the "Olympic Capital" Lausanne, Switzerland and with regional offices in Europe, North and South America, Africa, Middle East and Asia, TSE Consulting has an unparalleled connection to the international sports world.

The mission of TSE Consulting is to develop, cultivate and optimize the public sector's involvement in sport.

2013WTBACongress.jpgJust ten day ago, the city of Lausanne and the Canton de Vaud, long time partners of TSE Consulting, have been selected by the Swiss National Olympic Committee to be the Swiss candidate in the race for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games. This decision now awaits a final ratification by Swiss Olympic's Congress on September 19.

In its last motion of the day, the WTBA congress (right) unanimously agreed to resolution that it's WTBA's intension to work towards inclusion in the 2024 Olympic Games.

The WTBA has also announced that the Qatar Bowling Federation will host the 2nd World Singles Championships at the end of the year 2016. Competition will be held at the 32-lane Qatar Bowling Center in the capital city of Doha.

The bowling center, home of the Qatar Bowling Open, a World Bowling Tour and European Bowling Tour event, has hosted several local and international events in the past such as the 2006 Asian Games and the H.H. The Emir Cup.

The 2nd World Senior Championships was given to Sam's Town Hotel, Casino and Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Nev., United States. The only other bidding city, Vienna, Austria, did not meet the financial requirements.
