Maria Bulanova, Alexey Parshukov clinch BWC and ECC berths

    Win Russian qualifier to represent their country at the 50th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Poland and the European Champions Cup in Iceland

    In addition, the duo will also represent Russia in the European Champions Cup at Keiluhollin, Egilsholl bowling center in Reykjavik, Iceland (Oct. 13-19, 2014).

    14 men and four women bowled 20 games of qualifying at Hippo Bowling center in Ekaterinburg. The top 8 men and all women bowled advanced to seven games of round robin match play to determine the winner.

    Parshukov averaged 229.40 in qualifying to lead his neraest competitor, Igor Gorodnichy by 210 pins heading into match play. He posted the highest 1535 series, an average of 219.29 and received 100 bonus pins to crusie to victory with 6223 total and an overall average of 226.78.

    Gorodnichy was 401 pins behind to finish in second place with 5822 (212.67) with Alexander Medveditskov close behind in third place with 5809.

    15-year-old Maria Bulanova, who became the youngest player ever to win a European Bowling Tour title when she won the 2013 Russian Open at the tender age of 14, averaged 211.25 for 20 games of qualifying to lead Evgeniya Zelenkova by 131 pins, 4225 to 4094.

    Bulanova, who bowls on the Russian youth and adult national team, averaged 231.57 in patch play our averaging Zelenkova by 23 pins to easily win the event with 5906 total including 60 bonus pins and an overall average of 216.52. Zelenkova was 312 pins beind in second place with 5594.
