The PWBA Storm Sacramento Open was the first regular-season event on the PWBA Tour in more than a dozen years. The PWBA Tour ceased operations in 2003 and has been rejuvenated this year thanks to the support from the bowling industry.

2015PWBAMissyParkin.jpg"This is really amazing because the PWBA Tour folded when I graduated high school and everything I had looked forward to I had to put on hold," Current said. "To come out here and win on the PWBA Tour is seriously a dream come true."

Current entered the stepladder finals as the No. 2 seed and took advantage of her unbeatable ball reaction in the finals. She knocked off Missy Parkin (left) of Laguna Hills, California, 248-233, before defeating Wendell in the championship.

2015PWBARocioRestrepo.jpg"All I have been working on this week was my mental game because physically I have been throwing the ball well," Current said. "Finally, it all started to click together."

In the opening match of the stepladder finals, Parkin defeated Rocio Restrepo (right), a Colombian native who lives in Louisville, Ohio, 216-202.

Current earned $12,000 for the title and a spot in the season-ending PWBA Tour Championship, which will be contested in Arlington, Texas, in September.
