IOC President meets President of Japan Bowling Congress



    2006AkagiRogge.jpg On October 18 and 19, Dr. Jacques Rogge (center), President of the International Olympic Committee, visited Japan to meet key persons from the Japanese sports as well as IOC sponsors. After having an audience with the Emperor and Empress and paying a courtesy call to Prime Minister Abe, he attended a welcome reception by the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC).

    Kyohei Akagi (left), Honorary Member of JOC, Honorary Life President of World Tenpin Bowling Association, Honorary Advisor of Asian Bowling Federation and President of Japan Bowling Congress also attended the reception.

    During the reception, Dr. Rogge met Mr. Akagi and talked with him. After awarding the Olympic Order to Mr. Akagi personally, Dr. Rogge has recognized him at several occasions. We have heard that Mr. Akagi lobbied Dr. Rogge for bowling at this opportunity once again.
