Magnus Johnson named WBW 'Outstanding International Coach'

    Magnus_Johnson_1542.jpg Long-time Swedish national coach Magnus Johnson was named the 'Outstanding International Coach' of the Year by the World Bowling Writers. The renowned coach, who has won numerous medals in World and European Championships, received his award during the Olympia Tournament in Helsingborg, Sweden.

    Former Team USA head coach Fred Borden was on hand to present the "WBW 2005 Tom Kouros Outstanding International Coach Award" to Johnson prior to the opening squad of the tournament. Borden was the 2004 recipient of this prestigious award.

    Johnson, 54, from Stockholm, said that he was very surprised to be presented with this award and dedicates it to all the coaches and instructors in Sweden. He is currently working with the Legends University staff of Fred Borden and Bill Hoffman in Helsingborg, following seminars in Ireland and England.

    World Bowling Writers is an organization of bowling journalists worldwide, with membership representing most of the international bowling publications and other tenpin bowling media.
