Starting the day in 9th place among 109 trios from 57 countries and fourth in Squad 2, the Americans rolled games of 643, 672 and 706 to move past overnight leader England, Philippines and Japan with 2021 3-game pinfall, an average of 224.57.

Page, the Professional Bowlers Association Rookie of the Year, led the team today with 718 including a 279 game and 1329 over six games (games 1-3 on long, games 4-6 on short oil). Hoffman had 668 and 1246, while Allen contributed 635 and 1251. Their 3826 six-game total (212.56) is the score to beat for Squad 3 at 12.30 p.m. and Squad 1 at 4 p.m.

Mexico with Marco Martinez, Mario Garcia and Enrique Calvo moved into third place with 1899 (3702). England's Dominic Barrett, Mike Quarry and Stuart Williams (left to right), who led the field on long oil yesterday with a 1955 series, slipped to fourth place behind a sup-par 1739 series on short. The trio has totaled 3694 pins and averaged 205.22.

In the semis, the No. 1 seed will meet No. 4 and No. 2 takes on No. 3 in one-game matches with the winners meeting in the one-game title match immediately following. The semifinal losers will each receive bronze medals.

According to the host federation, the Thai Tenpin Bowling Association (TTBA), the semifinals and finals will be broadcasted live on national TV. Perhaps due to the exciting Doubles finals, the TV will extend the broadcasting time tonight and the semifinals will not be contested concurrently as scheduled. This means that the championship match might not finish before Midnight.

However, the weather might influence the planning as we have some severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall here in Bangkok since noon.
