Kang, Zulkifli lead Men's and Women's Singles after 12 games

     The individual pinfall from the Mixed Doubles was carried forward into the Singles competition on Tuesday (two 6-game blocks at 8.30 a.m. and 3 p.m.). Korean Kang Hee-Won (pictured) posted the field-best 2722, 12-game total to lead the men's division by 25 pins. Kang overtook Francois Sacco in the final game (233-190). Sacco is second with 2697, with Zulmazran Zulkifli, Malaysia, in third at 2659.

    4-time European ranking champion and World Ranking Masters winner Gery Verbruggen from Belgium is currently in 1oth place with 2498. The top 10 after 24 games will advance to Round Robin Match Play on Wednesday.

     Shalin Zulkifli sits atop the women's leaderboard. The Malaysian overtook Piritta Kantola from Finland with a 279 in the 10th game. Zulkifli registered 2535 pins, an average of 211,3.

    Kantola is second with 2481, while Japan's Ayano Katai is third at 2474. European Youth champion Kirsten Horemans followed in the footsteps of teammate Verbruggen and holds the 10th place with 2376.
