Judy Soutar celebrates golden anniversary; 50 years with Brunswick Bowling

And now, decades later, Judy Soutar is celebrating her 50th year in bowling with Brunswick; and she has never looked back. Brunswick honored Soutar during the 2010 International Bowl Expo in Las Vegas.  In front of a crowd of family, friends and fellow bowlers, Brunswick Bowling & Billiards President, Warren Hardie, presented her with a crystal bowling pin (pictured), as a token of the companies' appreciation.

Brunswick Bowling partners with Bowling Music Network

The exclusive partnership became official at the 2010 Bowl Expo Convention and unites the leaders in the bowling and music video entertainment industries. Bowling Music Network will be offered to new and existing bowling centers with Vector® scoring and will give centers the opportunity to enhance the entertainment experience for their bowlers, and create new profit opportunities for them.

Brian Graham to lead Brunswick Bowling Consumer Products Marketing

BrunswickBrianGraham_small.jpgDue to recent growth in the Brunswick Consumer Products business, Brunswick Bowling Products has announced that it will be investing in the business by adding a dedicated director of marketing, Brian Graham (pictured), who will lead the Consumer Products marketing team. Graham brings to Brunswick an impressive background and proven success in the bowling industry. He most recently was the director of youth development for the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). He will assume his duties on July 19.

New luxury cruise ship is third to provide bowling in the middle of the ocean to vacationers

Because of the huge popularity of bowling on Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL), the Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Gem, NCL’s newest ship will also have bowling. In fact, this new ship will have the most bowling lanes at sea, with a total of six lanes between two different venues on the vessel. The Norwegian Epic, a third generation Freestyle Cruising ship and, to date the company’s largest and most innovative ship, is set to depart on its maiden voyage in June 2010.

Bill Supper anounces retirement from International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame

Cites Grand Opening in Arlington, Texas as one of his career's 'greatest moment'

BillSupperIBMHoF_small.jpgBill Supper has announced his retirement as executive director of the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame (IBM/HF), effective June 15, 2010. Supper is a 30-year veteran of the bowling business, having worked for the BPAA) the IBPSIA and as executive director of the Hall for a total of five years. Supper, who joined the Museum this past September, stated, "It was such an honor to be selected by the IBMHOF board of directors to assist in the final build-out and grand opening of this state-of-the art tribute to the sport of bowling."

Brunswick signs professional bowler, Chris Loschetter, to pro staff

20100525ChrisLoschetter_small.jpgBrunswick Bowling announced today that Chris Loschetter, is the newest professional bowler to join its Pro Staff. Loschetter, who joined the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) in 2003, has 12 career 300 PBA games under his belt. Loschetter has appeared in 114 PBA Tour events, making nine championship round appearances and finishing second four times. During the 2008-2009 PBA Tour season, Loschetter, of Avon, Ohio, finished second in the Pepsi Viper Championship, and fourth in GoRVing match-play championship.

Brunswick signs professional bowler, Ronnie Russell, to pro staff

200910PBARonnieRussell2_small.jpgBrunswick Bowling & Billiards announced today that professional bowler, Ronnie Russell, has joined its Pro Staff. Russell, a right-handed bowler who has six career Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) 300 games, is a native of Indianapolis. The 30 year old joined the PBA in 2003. Among his accomplishments, Russell had three top-ten finishes during the 2008-2009 season of the PBA Tour, including a runner-up finish in the Etonic Marathon Open in Indianapolis. Russell also cashed in 16 of 19 events and made match play nine times.

The entertainment center features a 12-screen, all stadium-seated theater with 3,000 seats, including 300 VIP seats, 16 lanes of state-of-the-art Brunswick bowling equipment, 250 dining seats, upscale bars, a dance floor and a full-service kitchen offering signatures dishes from sushi to hand-tossed pizzas. This location is the first all-digital, high-definition theater in the state, and includes four 3D screens.

The center is scheduled to open in October 2010. Bowlmor currently has 6 bowling centers in major cities across the US, including a neighboring center in Union Square.

The entertainment facility spans more than 5,700 square meters and includes a pub, a pizza restaurant, a sushi-bar, a billiards hall and a Brunswick-equipped bowling center.

The consecutive 116 lane Inazawa Grand Bowl part of the Grand Bowl Chain which operates 15 bowling centers in Japan, reopened their facility last month. The chain now has the Bowler Entertainment System (BES) installed in 14 of their 15 locations in central Japan, totaling over 704 lanes.

The magazine reviewed more than 40 nationwide party chains, looking at activities, packages and prices, before selecting its ten best. Brunswick announces leadership change at Life Fitness

Hamilton, Brunswick senior vice president and chief financial officer, will assume Stransky's responsibilities on an interim basis. Hamilton previously had led Life Fitness in 2005 and 2006.

BVL recognized as one of "America's Best" Charities

BVLLogo_small.jpgThe Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL), a national charity which has raised more than $37 million for recreational and therapeutic programs and services for active duty and veteran service men and women, has recently been awarded the "America's Best" charity distinction. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed thes required standards, and, of those, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this Seal.

Reality Check Foundation to hold inaugural teen bowling event

RealityCheckLogo_small.jpgReality Check Foundation, a non-profit organization targeting troubled youths, is holding their First Annual Teen Bowling event on March 27th from 1-4pm at Shore Lanes in Palm Bay, according to Joseph Reilly, vice president of Reality Check Foundation. The purpose is to introduce at-risk teens to fun and positive alternatives to misguided activities that encourage criminal behavior. The organization plans to take 160 teens for the free bowling outing.

Frank Entertainment, who currently owns and operates 231 screens on the East Coast, will be developing two new bowling and entertainment centers and furnishing those centers with state-of-the-art bowling equipment from Brunswick.
