Sweden capped off the Women's European Championships Sunday at Plus Bowling in Vienna, Austria, with a sweep of the gold, silver and bronze medals in the tournament-ending Masters competition. In the title match, Filippa Persson came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Ida Andersson, 2-1. In an all-Swedish semi-final round, Andersson fired games of 233 and 254 to sweep Nina Flack, 2-0, while Persson rallied from being down 1-0 to defeat Joline Persson Planefors, 2-1.
The top 24 players in All-Events advanced to match play Masters, which will conclude the 2016 Women's European Championships Saturday at Plus Bowling in Vienna, Austria. The top 8 players will bypass the first of five rounds in best-of-three games format. Keira Reay of England, who barely qualified for the Singles finals at the Women's European Championships, defeated two opponents to win the first gold medal of the Championships Saturday afternoon at Plus Bowling in Vienna, Austria. In the gold medal match, Reay edged defending champion Daria Kovalova of Ukraine by mere three pins, 199-196, to win the biggest title in her career. Kovalova received the silver medal while Sandra Andersson, Sweden, and Patricia Luoto, Germany, got bronze.
