Bohn captured the PBA World Championship by defeating Jason Belmonte, Orange, New South Wales, Australia, in the title match, 254-227. It is his 33rd career PBA title and second major title, following the 2001 USBC Masters.

The opening match was a 226-218 win over Dan MacLleland, Canada. Next was a 200-170 defeat of Rhino Page, Dade City, Florida. Bohn then bested Sean Rash, Montgomery, Illinois, 278-231, setting up the title match with Belmonte.

Qualifying by only four pins, the 2000 PBA and 2008 USBC Hall of Famer became the first bowler since 1995 to start in the twenty-fourth position for round-robin match play and win the championship.

His 15-8-1 record after 56 games qualified fifth for the five-man stepladder finals. The 32-game qualifier featured 8 games each on the PBA animal patterns Cheetah, Viper, Chameleon, and Scorpion.

Others receiving votes were Scott Norton, winner of the PBA Chameleon Championship, Brad Angelo, winner of the PBA Viper Championship, Bill O'Neill, winner of the PBA Alka Seltzer Cold Plus Cheetah Championship, and Chris Barnes and Missy Parkin, winners of the Bayer Advanced Aspirin World Bowling Tour men's and women's finals, presented by the PBA.
