The partnership between the bowling industry and Lloyd's Dale Coyne Racing Racing team was announced earlier in the week by Strike Ten Entertainment, the sales and activation arm of the bowling industry. It marked a return to the bowling-Indy Car tie-in first developed in the mid-1990s between the American Bowling Congress and the late Stan Fox.

The race, televised by ABC-TV, was won by Dario Franchitti.

"Just like the thrill of rolling a perfect strike, the adrenaline rush of riding in an Indy Car at the Milwaukee Mile is undeniable," said Frank DeSocio, for Strike Ten Entertainment.

"We are very pleased to team up with Dale Coyne Racing and Alex Lloyd for this exciting partnership that brings together two of America's most beloved sports: bowling and racing. We look forward to future partnerships with the racing industry."

Dale Coyne Racing has been a long standing staple in racing since 1984. Lloyd, driving the No. 19 car in Milwaukee, finished fourth in the 2010 Indianapolis 500 for Dale Coyne Racing. After qualifying 14th on Saturday, his race ended on lap 79 after a crash.

"We are proud to align ourselves with the bowling industry and GoBowling.com - a great brand that is the online hub for bowling fans and enthusiasts worldwide. Partnering with the bowling industry itself provides a powerful opportunity to showcase our own brand before the nearly 69 million people who bowl each year across virtually every market in the nation," said team owner Dale Coyne.

GoBowling.com is the premiere online property and website home of the bowling industry, serving as the consumer connection to bowling promotions, endorsements and league information at more than 4,000 bowling centers nationwide.
