As in the 2013 event, Jacobs (l.) led Squad 3, this time with 1298, to leap into fourth place in the overall standings. Jeroen van Geel (r.), Netherlands, continued to lead the field of 65 bowlers from four countries with 1411 and an average of 235.17.

Jeroen van Geel, Priscilla Maaswinkel take early lead in Chandra Open 2014

47 players from Belgium and the Netherlands kick off the EBT Satellite tournament at Chandra Bowling in Nieuwegein, Netherlands; Van Geel becomes the first player to crack the 1400 bar; cut line in 30th place is currently 1119 (186.50)

Van Geel (l.) averaged 235.17 in the opening squad en route to lead the field of 47 players from Belgium and the Netherlands after day one with 1411 total. Maaswinkel (r.) totaled 1368 pins in Squad 2 to overtake second place.

Nadejda Korablinova becomes the second consecutive woman to win the Russian Open

Russian becomes the third woman in 2014 to win a European Bowling Tour title; defeats Egyptian Ahmed Gamal in the title match

Korablinova, who eliminated defending champion and fellow countrywoman Maria Bulanova in the semifinals, became the second consecutive women to win the Russian Open and third woman in 2014 to win a European Bowling Tour title.

Andrey Suslov shoots 1427 series to win the qualifying in Russian Open

Second-place Daniel Vezis of Latvia is the only non-Russian bowler in the top 12; score to make the cut in 42nd place is 1167 (194.50 average)

Suslov led Squad 4 on Saturday morning with 1427 total, an average of 237.83, including games of 216, 217, 234, 248, 279 and 233. Russian bowlers dominated the 94-player from nine countries as Daniel Vezis (r.) of Latvia was the lone foreign bowler in the top 12.

Fresh of a second-place finish in the Brunswick Etna Open last week, the two-handed lefty had games of 255, 232, 187, 215, 258 and 252 to hold an 85-pin lead over defending champion Maria Bulanova (r.), Russia, in second place with 1333 including eight pins handicap each game.

Angie Brown, Carlo Greulich win their third ISBT title this season in Böblingen Senior Open

2014ISBT09CarloGreulichAngieBrown_small.jpgAngie Brown (r.) of England and Germany's Carlo Greulich (l.) celebrated their third victory on the 2014 International Seniors Bowling Tour when captured the women's and men's title in the 3rd Böblingen Senior Open Sunday, September 7, at Dream Bowl in Böblingen, Germany. In an all-German men's finale, Greulich topped Hermann Wimmer, 233-222. Two late unconverted splits for Martina Beckel, Germany, and a run of four strikes allowed Brown to gain victory, 209-184.

Alexander Johansson rolls two big games to win his first EBT title in Brunswick Etna Open

Swede shoots two consecutive games over 250 to beat PBA Hall of Famer Brian Voss in roll-off and tournament leader Daniel Vezis in the title match; fourth place Birgit Pöppler wins women's ranking in Catania, Italy

2014EBT12Top3_small.jpg Alexander Johansson (center) of Sweden fired two consecutive games over 250 en route to win his first European Bowling Tour title in the Brunswick Etna Open Sunday evening. In the opening match of the stepladder finals, Johansson edged PBA Hall of Famer Brian Voss (r.), USA, 30-24 in roll-off after a 255-255 tie. He went on to defeat No. 1 seed, Daniel Vezis (l.), Latvia, in the title match, 253-219. Johansson earned 6.000 Euro, while Vezis and Voss pocketed 3.000 and 2.000 Euro for second and third place.

5th edition of the event to air on Eurosport featuring five TV shows in three cities including Men's Singles, Team, Doubles and Masters as well as an inaugural Women's Team Challenge

Organizer Bruno Bidone of Bowling Promotion has announced the names of the 16 participants from England, France, Germany, Monaco, Netherlands and Russia. The men will compete in four TV shows in Singles, Team and Doubles & Masters while the women battle it out in the inaugural Team Challenge Match.

Defending champion Paul Moor wins qualifying in Brunswick Etna Open

Score to make the cut in 32nd place is 1269 (211.50 average)

The defending champion, who targets to win a record 14th career European Bowling Tour title, had six games between 214 and 266 for 1462, an average of 243.67, and received a first and second round bye. Salvatore Lanzafame of Italy hit the cutoff number for 32nd place with 1269. Three out of 12 women in the 112-player field from 17 countries survived the cut.

Thomas Larsen shoots first 1400-series to take over lead in Brunswick Etna Open

Larsen toppled 1406 pins in Squad 17 to beat out Squad 16 leaders Brian Voss (1390), United States, and Hashim Guinomla (1388), Philippines, for the top spot by 16 and 18 pins. resp. Previous leader Tom Hess, United States, fell to fourth place with 1381. With 18 qualifying squads in the books, the score to make the cut in 32nd place is 1245 (207.50 average).

2011 USBC Masters champion Tom Hess (pictured), United States, averaged 230.17 in Thursday's Squad 14 at Bowling La Plaja in Catania, Italy, to overtake the lead in the qualifying of the Brunswick Etna Open with 1381 pinfall total. Francesco Vaccaro, Italy, was 30 pins behind to move into second, while previous leader Daniel Vezis, Latvia, fell to third. Qualifying resumes Friday, September 5, with Squads 15-17 scheduled for noon, 4 and 8 p.m. CEST. Score to make the cut in 32nd place is currently 1206 (201 average).

50+ Euro Bowling Open 2014

Liliane Vintens, Ron Oldfield win second ISBT title this season in 50+ Euro Bowling Open

2014ISBT08LilianeVintensRonOldfield_small.jpg Liliane Vintens of Belgium (l.) and England's Ron Oldfield (r.) captured their second International Seniors Bowling Tour (ISBT) title this season in the 50+ Euro Bowling Open Sunday, August 17, at Euro Bowling in Deurne, Antwerp, Belgium. The eighth stop on the 2014 ISBT tour was scheduled to be in Brussels, but the tournament was unexpected cancelled by the organiser just four weeks before it was due to start. Euro Bowling to host the tournament and 71 men and 20 women still took part.

Yvette Murrath (r.) of France and Germany's Carlo Greulich (l.) wrapped up the 2013 season of the International Seniors Bowling Tour with victory in the women's and men's ISBT Masters Finals August 4 at Chandra Bowling in Nieuwegein, Netherland. Every year, the top competitors from the ISBT series of tournaments are invited to participate in the Masters Final. There is no entry fee to participate and the prize fund is generated from the tournaments run during the year.

The seventh stop on the 2014 ISBT tour was at a new location for 2014, the 16-lane Chandra Bowling. The tournament attracted 180 bowlers, 132 men and 48 women, boosted by the 66 Dutch bowlers.

Mika Koivuniemi wins his 10th European Bowling Tour title in Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open

The 'big Finn' survives three eliminator rounds en route to win the 7.000 Euro top prize; becomes the first two-time winner this season and is fourth on the all-time EBT title list

He is the first two-time winner this season. Leading by 47 pins heading into the championship round, Koivuniemi defeated compatriot Joonas Jehkinen (r.), 197-181 and 1542-1479 overall, to seal the victory. Defending champion Jehkinen earned 5.000 Euro for second place.

Hansen rolled games of 247, 243, 206, 232, 235 and 244 to lead the 184-player standing with 1407 (234.50 average). The EBT "gold" event offers total prize fund of 70.000 Euro.

PBA star leaps into second place with 1369; England's Dom Barrett continues to lead the 171-player field from 23 countries with 1375 (229.17 average); score to make the cut in 50th place surpasses the 1200-mark (1230, 205 average)

The 15-time PBA champion, who is still looking to win his first title on the European Bowling Tour, posted his highest series of 1369 in Squad 12 including games of 236, 198, 257, 194, 279 and 205. Jones, who returned Friday night to win Squad 14 with 1288, pocketed 350 Euro each for accomplishing the feat.

Barrett averaged 229.17 in Squad 6 at Dream-Bowl Palace in Munich, Germany, with games 223, 236, 245, 196, 268 and 207. The leaders of Squads 1-7 receive a 250 Euro bonus. Previous leader Hansi Glasl (r.), Germany, slipped to second place with 1349.

It was Brown's 10th title and Oldfield's 8th, both records on the International Seniors Bowling Tour. Brown, who won the women's title at the 1st Senior Open at Dream-Bowl Palace in Munich, Germany, earlier this month, become the first player, men and women, to win multiple titles on the 2014 Tour.
