Champions crowned in four divisions at 2014 Koge Youth Masters

Danes Mathias Ankerdal (l.), Rikke Johansen (r.), Christopher Bengt and Gaetan Mouvereux of France won the titles in the 2014 Koge Youth Masters, which concluded Sunday at Koge Bowling Center in Koge near Copenhagen, Denmark. 130 players from eight countries participated in the event. Players competed for prize money and the last ranking points of the 2013-14 Youth Euro Trophy (YET) before the season-ending YET Masters Finals.

Pasi Uotila, Mai Ginge Jensen emerge as champions in 7th EBT Masters 2014

In the men's title match, top seeded Uotila defeated Martin Larsen of Sweden, 246-202. On the women's finale, Jensen, took downd tournament leader Birgit Pöppler of Germany, 224-207.

Englishman John Wells wins his first EBT title in Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament 2014; ties Dane Thomas Larsen in final round, 429-429, and becomes the winner by the higher last game, 176 to 173

2014EBT03Podium_small.jpgJohn Wells of England won his first European Bowling Tour title in the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament 2014 in the closest decision in EBT history. Wells tied defending champion Thomas Larsen of Denmark in the fourth and last Eliminator Round after two games, 429-429, and became the winner due to the "higher last game" rule, 176 to 173. As all ties in this tournament were broken by the higher last game, Wells emerged as the champion and received the 6.000 Euro top prize.

Spil, who had games of 253, 268, 279, 213, 239 and 247, leads 46 of 213 bowlers from 17 countries into Sunday's finals. Jesper Svensson (r.), a two-handed lefty from Sweden, posted the highest series on Saturday to jump into third place with 1477.

Voss, who owns 25 PBA and three EBT titles, toppled 1456 pins including a 256 triplicate in games 2-4. Heading into the final qualifying day, Johnny Spil of the Netherlands leads the 185-player field from 17 countries with 1499 and an average of 249.83.

The qualifying winner will receive a 1.000 Euro bonus. Squad 8 was highlighted by the second perfecto of the tournament. Fens is now sandwiched between Jean-Marc Lebon of Belgium, who leads the field of 102 players from six countries with 1483 (247.17 average), and his compatriot Marawan Aernoudt, who slipped to third place with 1434 including the tournaments lone 300 game so far.

The Dutch women's national team member tied Johnny Spil (right), Netherlands, at 1393 and took over fourth place due to her lower last game, 248-214 in Spil's favor. By sitting in the top 6 after four squads, Breeschooten is automatically qualified for Sunday's finals if she doesn't finish in the top 36.

Bowlers of the Israel Bowling Federation pair with Special Olympics athletes in unique Doubles league

2014ISRUnifiedLeagueSigning1_small.jpg The Israel Bowling Federation has announced that it has signed a new partnership agreement with Special Olympics Israel in November 2013. This partnership will open greater opportunities for the athletes with intellectual disabilities in the sport of the Tenpin Bowling (L-R Daniel Benaim, S.O. Israel; Arie Fisher, IBF President). After a few months of preparation, a unique project got underway last on Friday, February 21, at bowling center Petach-Tikva with the first Unified Bowling League.

Qualifying starts on Sunday, February 23 and runs through Saturday, March 1. A total of 46 players will advance to the finals on Sunday, March 2. The EBT Silver tournament offers total prize fund of 44.400 Euro with 6.000 Euro going to the winner, 4.000 to the runner-up and 3.000 and 2.000 to third and fourth place finishers, resp. Low to cash is 46th place (400 Euro).

Youth Euro Trophy event drew 160 youth bowlers from 8 countries; champions crowned in nine divisions

Ragusa barely made the cut to the finals as he finished the semifinals in seventh place to earn the last boys' spot for the combined finals with the top 3 girls. All previous pinfall was dropped and Ragusa cruised to victory with games of 236, 194, 207, 247, 219, 212, 235, 235 and 267 and 2012 total including 160 bonus.

Kamilla Kjeldsen wins her first EBT title in 8th International Wroclaw Open by Hammer

Dane defeats men's ranking winner Jaroslav Lorenc (CZE) in the title match, 449-390

2014EBT02KamillaKjeldsen_small.jpg Kamilla Kjeldsen (pictured) of Denmark defeated Jaroslav Lorenc, Czech Republic, in the title match over two games total pins, 441-390, to win her first career European Bowling Tour title in the 8th International Wroclaw Open by Hammer Sunday evening at Galeria Rozrywki Miraz in Wroclaw, Poland.Kjeldsen, who won the women's ranking for the 12th time, pocketed 4.250 Euro. Lorenc, who won the men's ranking in Wroclaw received 2.750 Euro for second place.

Israel announces Women's Team for 2014 Women's European Championships in Germany

2014WECIsraelTeamTrials_small.jpgThe Israel Bowling Federation has announced the its team for the 2014 Women's European Championships, which will be held from June 4-15 at bowling center Neue City Bowling Hasenheide in Berlin Germany. To qualify for the team, the women had to bowl in a qualification tournament at bowling center Planet in the city of Rishon Lezion featuring 30 games over 6 days. The top five players plus national ranking leader Sarit Mizrahi made the team for Berlin.

Jaroslav Lorenc (r.), Czech Republic, who moved into the top spot after a 1352 effort in Squad 6, slipped to second place.
