Loos, Larsen, Agerbo lead in All Events after 18 of 24 games
For the second time in as many events at the Men's European Championships, Sweden earned the No. 1 seed for the Trios finals, which will start a 8 p.m. CEST at Plus Bowling in Vienna, Austria.
Kim Bolleby, Dennis Eklund and Martin Larsen rolled games of 545, 664 and 673 on the long oil pattern (44') in the last squad of the preliminaries (Squad 1) to finish with 3843 total and an average of 213,50.
Another two teams of Squad 1 made the top 4, who advanced to the semifinals. Matt Miller, Mike Quarry and Raymond Teece of England finished strong with 697 and 698 to shoot from nowhere into second place with 3796 (210,89).
Jesper Agerbo, and Doubles champions Thomas Larsen and Mik Stampe of Denmark took the fourth and last place with 3715 (206,39). Previous leader Finland with Joonas Jehkinen, Perttu Jussila and Europe's top-ranked player, Osku Palermaa, slipped to third place with 3726 (207,00).
No. 1 Sweden bowls No. 4 Denmark while No. 2 England meets No. 3 Finland in the other semifinal match. The winners bowl for the gold medal while the losers share the bronze medal. All matches are single-game matches.
