WTBA and Sam's Town release Bulletin No. 2 for 2nd World Seniors Championships 2015

    2011WTBALogo.jpg The World Tenpin Bowling Association and host Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall have released Bulletin No. 2 for the 2nd World Seniors Championships 2015 which will be held Aug. 23-30, 2015 at the 56-lane Sam' Town Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

    Bulletin No. 1 was released in December 2014. As of the release day of Bulletin No. 2, 194 bowlers, 110 men and 84 women, from 30 countries have registered for the event. WTBA has extended the entry deadline until August 10. However, the last day to make a hotel reservation and receive the group room rate is July 23.

    To be eligible for the second edition of the championships for men and women 50 years of age and above, players must be born December 31st, 1965 or before.

    Bulletin No. 2 contains information on the preliminary schedule, Sam's Town Hotel, Gambling Hall and Bowling Center, Various Facilities and Services, Various Fees and Forms and Deadlines. Please respect the deadlines.

    Maximum four men and four women per country will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, four-player Teams, All-Events and Masters in the six-day competition (Aug. 25-30).

    Singles, Doubles and the Team event include six games of qualifying before the field is narrowed to the top four who advance to the semifinals. The winners bowl for gold and silver, the losers share the bronze medals. The top 3 players in All-Events (combined scores in Singles, Doubles and Teams) also earn medals. The top 24 in All-Events advance to the Masters finals.

    2014WorldBowlingLogo.jpg The World Seniors Championships is contested every two years. The inaugural edition was held August 10-16, 2013 at Red Rock Lanes in Las Vegas and drew 213 players, 123 men and 90 women, from 33 countries.

    The United States led the medal tally with six gold, three silver and six bronze medals. Sweden won three gold, five silver and five bronze medals. Mexico (1/0/1) was the only other country which brought home a gold medal.
