Al-Qubaisi beats Lintilä to claim men's World Ranking Masters

     Mohd Al-Qubaisi came back from being down 0-1 to defeat Lasse Lintilä, two-games-to-one, en route to capture the men's World Ranking Masters title.

    36-year-old Lintilä, one of three Finns in the men's single elimination finals, easily won game #1, 244-188.

    Al-Qubaisi came back and finished with back-to-back victories, 269-196 and 210-190.

    This is the second men's WRM title for the Asian Bowling Federation after the late Sunny Hui of Hong Kong won the inaugural event in 2001. Belgium Gery Verbruggen and Swede Anders Öhman won the titles in 2002 and 2003, resp.

    Lasse Lintilä and Mohd Al-Qubaisi will determine the men's champion

     In the second clash between two Finns in the men's World Ranking Masters single elimination finals, Lasse Lintilä (pictured) and Pasi Uotila, who ousted Petri Mannonen in the quarterfinals, split the first game, 187-187.

    Lintilä, winner of the 2004 Super Bowl Eliminator, won the roll-off 40-36. He then secured his spot in the finals with a 220-211 victory in game #2.

    His opponent in tomorrow's championship match is Mohd Al-Qubaisi, who sent Singapore's Remy Ong to the sidelines with a 2-0 win.

     In clash between two Finns, Pasi Uotila upset men's top seed Petri Mannonen, 2-0, to reach the semi-finals in the World Ranking Masters.

    Uotila will meet another Finn, Lasse Lintilä, who cruised to victory over World Masters Champion Michael Little of Australia, 2-0.

    Mohd Khalifa came back from a 0-1 deficit to beat Andres Gomez of Colombia, 223-199 in the deciding game.

    He will bowl against Remy Ong of Singapore (pictured), who defeated the other Aussie Jason Belmonte, 2-1. The final score of the decider: 206-205!
