No changes atop the leaderboard in Trios after Squad 1 has completed six games

Joonas Jehkinen, Jari Ratia and Kimmo Lehtonen from Finland (l-r with coach Sami Konsteri on the far left) posted the squad-best 1973 3-game series on the short oil pattern, a 219.22 average, to widen their lead in the Trios event at the 2007 Men's European Championships at Plus Bowling in Vienna, Austria.
The Finns, who broke the championship record for one (803) and three games (2167) on Day One, totaled 4140 pins, a 230.00 average, to set another record for six games and to widen their lead to 241 pins.
Swedes Magnus Andersson, Tobias Karlsson and Dennis Eklund, who were in second place after 3 games in the overall standings yesterday, maintained their position with a 1914 series on long oil. The Swedes checked in with a combined total of 3899 pins and an average of 216,61.
Norwegians Lasse Ingebrigtsen, Per Kristian Eide and Glenn Morten Pedersen, who were in third position in Squad 1 and fourth overall, maintained their position due to an 1860 series with 3840 pinfall total and an average of 213,33.
The second Finnish trio with Petteri Salonen, Osku Palermaa and Timo Alho, who were in third place after the first block will take on the 32 lanes at Plus Bowling in Vienna in Squad 2 starting at 12.30.
Squad 3 will conclude the prelims at 4 p.m. as for the first time in the history of the European championships the gold, silver and bronze medalists will be determined in match play finals.
The top 4 four teams after six games - three on short and three on long oil - will advance to the semi-finals starting at 7.30 p.m. The No. 1 seed bowls the No. 4 seed ands No. 2 meets No. 3. The winners advance to the title match and the losers will share the bronze medal. One-game matches, the higher seed in any match will choose the lane condition (short or long oil) to play on.
