Krista Pöllänen, left, from Finland posted a 1597 8-game series (199.63 average) on the second qualifying day in the 8th World Ranking Masters to win the low-scoring contest on the long oil pattern. Pöllänen, who received a $1,000 bonus, leaped seven spots into third place in the overall qualifying standings with 3151 16-game total.

Tannya Roumimper, (right) Indonesia, and Shalin Zulkifli, Malaysia, remained atop the leaderboard in the women's division. Roumimper added 1512 (189.00) to the 1719 from yesterday to lead the field of 24 players with 3231. She is the sole woman who averaged higher than 200 over the first two day (201.94). Zulkifli had 1552 on Saturday to sit in second place with 3169.

2007 European ranking champion, Kirsten Penny, England, slipped one place to fourth behind a 1517 series. Penny, who won $50,000 for her victory in the Qatar Open in January, more than the total prize fund for the women in Jakarta, has felled 3132 pins.

Next are Malaysians Wendy Chai and Zatil Iman with 3131 and 3129, respectively. Chai rolled the highest women's game thus far with 278 in game six.

Karen Marcano remained in seventh place with 3116. Vanessa Fung, Hong Kong, used the second-highest series of the day (1588) to move from 12th to 8th place with 3113 pinfall total.

All players will return on Sunday for the third and final 8-game block on dual lane condition - one lane dressed with short oil, the other with long oil.

The top 8 players after 24 games will advance to the single-elimination best-of-three games finals. The champion will walk a way with the $10.000 (approx. $6,425) top prize.
