Israel leads Girl's Trios event after three of six games

    2008EYCGirlsTriosISRVizenfeldAharonovichDayan.jpg L-R Liat Vizenfeld, Roni Aharonovich and Mor Dayan from Israel rolled games of 652, 662 and 716 to lead the Girl's Trios event at the 21st European Youth Championships after 3 of 6 games with 2030 and an average of 225.56. Dayan led the way with the field-best 747 series (249 ave.) including the 279 high game of the day. Vizenfeld had 678 and Aharonovich, who made EYC history in the 20th EYC in Greece, when she rolled the first 300 by a girl, added 605.

    Trailing the Israelis by 81 pins to sit in second place was Germany with Shirley Lazar, Cynthia Kleyda and Melanie Birlinger. The Germans felled 1949 pins (215.56) including the highest game of the day, 748.

    Third place belongs to the host country, Finland. Roosa Lundén, Hanna Stenroos and Petra Koukkari totaled 1917 pins, an average of 213.00

    The Trios event ends on Thursday with the second 3-game block. 29 girl's trios from 19 countries participated in the second event at Tali Bowl in Helsinki, Finland.
