Telecasts set for 2008 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

CBS College Sports Network will air both national title matches in early June

USBCITCLogo_small.jpg For the fifth consecutive year, CBS College Sports Network will showcase the pinnacle event of the college bowling season - the 2008 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships, presented by Storm - by airing the women's and men's national championship matches in early June. The women's national championship will air Wednesday, June 4, at 8 p.m. EDT. Two days later, the men's national championship will air on Friday, June 6, at 8 p.m. EDT.

Pikeville bears down for women's national title at USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

Bandy, the two-time reigning National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association Most Valuable Player, and her Bears teammates defeated hometown Wichita State, 2-0, in the best-of-3, single-elimination women's title match Saturday at the 2008 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships, presented by Storm, at Northrock Lanes. The championship matches will air nationally on CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV) at a later date.

Wichita State rides momentum to men's national title at 2008 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

2008ITCWichitaStateMensChampion_small.jpg Wichita State senior Jesse Buss said momentum was a key ingredient to success at the 2008 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships, presented by Storm. So when he buried his first shot for a strike to start off the men's championship match against UNLV, he knew his teammates would respond in kind. The Shockers followed Buss' lead in rolling to a 2-0 victory in the best-of-3, single-elimination match over UNLV on Saturday at Northrock Lanes for a record eighth national title and first since 2003.

Saginaw Valley State closes in on 'three-peat' at 2008 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

2008ITCSaginawValleyState_small.jpg Saginaw Valley State moved closer to becoming the second team in history to win three straight national titles Friday at the 2008 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships, presented by Storm, at Northrock Lanes. Saginaw Valley State is joined by the UNLV men, defending women's champion Wichita State and the Pikeville women as the remaining undefeated teams. All four teams need to win just one match in the semifinals to advance to the finals, scheduled to begin at approximately 1 p.m. CDT Saturday.

The ITC, featuring the top 16 men's and top 16 women's college bowling teams in the country vying for national titles, is being held at Northrock Lanes and runs through Saturday.

Wichita State looks for repeat, Saginaw Valley State after 'three-peat' at USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

Maier and the Shockers - ranked No. 1 by the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association - will look to raise the Helmer Cup for the third time in four years when the 2008 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships, presented by Storm, return to Wichita, Kan., April 17-19.

Saginaw Valley State men, Wichita State women will have opportunity to defend titles

2008ITCStormLogo_small.jpg The field is set for the 2008 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships, presented by Storm, following the completion of Sectional Qualifier competition March 15-16, with the Saginaw Valley State University men's team and Wichita State University women's team ready to defend their titles. Saginaw Valley State advanced to the national finals for the fifth straight year. In the women's division, Wichita State, advanced for the 27th straight year dating back to 1982 and record 33rd appearance.

Sectional field announced for 2008 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

USBCITCLogo_small.jpg Two-time defending men's national champion Saginaw Valley State headlines the Sectional Qualifier field of the 2008 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships, presented by Storm, announced Wednesday by the USBC Collegiate program. The four Sectional Qualifiers will be held March 16-17 in Allentown, Pa.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Fairview Heights, Ill., and in Las Vegas. The top four in each division at each sectional advance to the 2008 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships, scheduled for April 16-19 at Northrock Lanes in Wichita, Kan.

The USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships, contested annually since 1975, is the pinnacle event of the college bowling season with the top 16 men's and top 16 women's teams in the country vying for national titles. Qualifying for the national finals will be held on March 15-16 at four sectional sites.
