Wichita State men, Webber International women win Intercollegiate Team Championships

Calumet's Ryan Gleghorn, Webber's Hayley Beavis were named MVPs

2010ITCWebberInternationalWomen2_small.jpgThe Wichita State men's team won its third consecutive national title, while Webber International claimed the women's championship Saturday at the 2010 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. The Shockers dominated the men's final, sweeping Calumet College of St. Joseph, 2-0,, while Webber International (pictured) won the women's title with a 2-0 victory over McKendree. Both championship matches will be televised on ESPN2 on Wednesday, May 5 at 9 p.m. EDT.

The two-time defending champion Wichita State and Calumet College (l.) won all three of their matches to remain undefeated on the men's side. For the women, McKendree and Robert Morris (r.) finished with a perfect record to reach Saturday's semifinal round.

Wichita State Men and Women earn top seeds at Intercollegiate Team Championships

The ITC is being held in El Paso, Texas and runs through Saturday.

The Shockers are among the 16 men's and 16 women's teams that advanced to the collegiate nationals, which will be conducted in an arena setting at the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center.

Field is set for 2010 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

USBCcollegiateLogo_small.jpgThe field for the 2010 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships has been determined following sectional qualifying tournaments held this weekend. Sectional qualifiers were held March 13-14 at four sites – AMF Parkway Lanes in Allentown, Pa.; Holiday Bowl-Brainerd in Chattanooga, Tenn.; Landmark Lanes in Peoria, Ill.; and the South Point Hotel and Casino Bowling Center in Las Vegas. The ITC will be held April 14-17 at the El Paso (Texas) Convention and Performing Arts Center.

Shockers headline Peoria Sectional

Top four teams will advance to the 2010 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

200910WSUShockers_small.jpgAfter finishing their regular season last weekend, the WSU Shockers quickly found out that they will be traveling to Peoria, Ill. to compete in the Peoria Sectional, March 13-14. Both the men and women (pictured) will be competing in the same sectional which features 17 teams in the men's division and 18 in the women's. The top four teams from each will advance to the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships at the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center in El Paso, Texas on April 14-17.

Now, the nation's top men's and women's collegiate bowling teams can begin charting their courses toward the 2010 national title.
