Wichita State sweeps USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships titles

In a matchup of the two most storied men's programs in the history of the championships, the Shockers won their second consecutive title and ninth overall, defeating the Cardinals 2-1. The women's team led each game from the get go as they swept Lindenwood to win the women's title, 2-0.

Four teams unbeaten at USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

2009ITCLogo_small.jpgFour teams survived the opening day of match play unscathed and need just one more victory to advance to the championship round at the 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. Four-time champion Saginaw Valley State and first-year program Webber International finished unbeaten among the men. For the women, top seeded Central Florida and eight-time champion Wichita State also won all three of their matches Friday. All four teams need to win just one match in the semifinals to advance to the finals, scheduled to begin at approximately 1 p.m. CDT Saturday.

Webber International shoots first 300 Baker game in 34-year history of the event

The championships, featuring the top 16 men's and top 16 women's college bowling teams in the country vying for national titles, is being held at The Cherry Bowl and runs through Saturday.

The top 16 men's and top 16 women's collegiate bowling teams in the country will battle for national titles at the 2009 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships, presented by Storm, April 15-18 at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Ill. Among the favorites are the Pikeville women and Wichita State men, who will look to defend their titles.

Field set for 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

 This weekend, the nation's top collegiate bowling teams took part in sectional qualifying for the 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. Qualifying competition consisted of 64 Baker games bowled at one of four sectional sites: Allentown, Pa., Chattanooga, Tenn., Fairview Heights, Ill., and Las Vegas. Every team began sectionals with the same goal: to finish in the top four in their division. Doing so would mean a trip to the national finals, which will be held April 15-18 at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Ill.

CBS College Sports to air 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

USBCITCLogo_small.jpg CBS College Sports Network has announced plans to broadcast the tape-delayed finals of the 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. The women's final will air June 2 at 8 p.m. ET, and the men's final will follow June 3 at 8 p.m. ET. The 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships will be contested April 15-18 at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Ill. The event will feature 16 men's and 16 women's teams from across the country.

Sectional field announced for 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships

Four sectional qualifiers to be held March 14-15

USBCcollegiateLogo_small.jpg USBC Collegiate has determined sectional-qualifying assignments for the 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. Now, the nation's top men's and women's collegiate bowling teams can begin charting their courses toward the 2009 national title. The four sectional qualifiers will be held March 14-15 at AMF Parkway Lanes in Allentown, Pa.; Holiday Bowl-Brainerd in Chattanooga, Tenn.; St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Ill., and the South Point Hotel and Casino Bowling Center in Las Vegas. The top four teams in each division at each sectional will advance to the 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships, which will be held April 15-18 at Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Ill.
