Mai Ginge Jensen leads top 12 of Semifinal Round Two into Sunday's Finals

Mai Ginge Jensen (pictured left) of Denmark totaled 1369 pins over two three-game blocks in Semifinal Rounds 1 and 2 to lead the top 12 players into the finals of the Norwegian Open 2014 by Brunswick starting Sunday 10 a.m. at Veitvet Bowling Center in Oslo, Norway.
The 2011 World Champion in All-Events added 662 to the 707 of Round 1 to lead the 24-player field with 1369 total including eight pins handicap per game.
Round 1 leaders Rebecka Larsen (right) of Sweden and Andrea E. Hansen of Norway slipped one spot to second and third place with 1348 and 1341, respectively.

Rasmus Bering (left) of Denmark, who had one of five 300 games in qualifying, averaged 220.67 in the second round to leap two spots to fourth place with 1332.
Rounding out the top 5 was Kevin Karlsson (right) of Sweden, who used games of 201, 237 and 258 for 696 to move from 10th to fifth place with 1330.
Ruben Hansen Sælen posted the highest series in the round of 701 to jump from 14th to sixth place with 1319.
Britt Brøndsted and Pernille W. Rasmussen of Denmark fell out of the top 5 to seventh and 11th place with 1297 and 1267, resp., but survived the cut. Frode Jørgen Aaneby (right) of Norway took the 12th and last spot for the finals with 1266 and an average of 211.
The top 12 will meet qualifiers 25 to 28 in Final Round One starting on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. Central European Summer Time (CEST).
The Norwegian Open 2014 by Brunswick is the 17th stop of the 2014 European Bowling Tour and the seventh out of nine EBT "Satellite" events this season. The tournament will be held from Oct. 3-12 at Veitvet Bowling Center in Oslo.
The total prize fund is 239.000 Kronor or 29.000 Euro with 40.000 NOK or approx. 4.850 Euro going to the winner.
Bowlingdigital will cover the Norwegian Open 2014 by Brunswick live from Veitvet Bowling Center in Oslo with stories and results after each round commencing Thursday, October 9, all the way through to the finals. The finals will be on Sunday, October 12, completed in the late afternoon.

Qualifying of the Norwegian Open began Friday, Oct. 3 and ran through Saturday, Oct. 11. Women receive 8 pins handicap each game, an equality handicap provided to women in every event on the European Bowling Tour. Total 60 players advanced to the finals on Saturday (Semifinal Round 1 and 2) and Sunday, Oct. 11 & 12.
The top 8 qualifiers earn four byes and will be seeded in Round 4, places 9-16 go to Round 3, places 17-24 start in Round 2 and places 25-28 begin in Round 1. The other 32 finalists advanced to Semifinal Round 1.
The top 24 players after three game scratch advanced to the Semifinal Round 2 to bowl further three games with the pinfall carried over. The top 12 meet the top 28 qualifiers in the finals starting on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
The remaining forty players will determine the champion in five three-game rounds (rounds 1-4 starting from scratch). The field will be trimmed from 40 to 32, 24, 16, and then eight who bowl a final three-game block with the pinfall from Round 4 carried forward.
The player with the highest six-game total will earn the EBT title, 50 ranking points and the 40.000 NOK top prize.
The 2014 European Bowling Tour features 19 tournaments in 13 countries. In its 15th season, the EBT consists of two Platinum, six Gold, three Silver and eight Satellite tournaments. The total prize fund is almost one million Euro.
The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 12 men and top 12 women, who will compete in the eighth EBT Masters July 6, 2015 at Bowling ChamartÃn in Madrid, Spain, immediately following the III Brunswick Madrid Challenge.
