Jenny Wegner wins gold medals No. 3 and No. 4 in Girls Singles and All Events

Doubles and Team champion Jenny Wegner from Sweden added gold medals No. 3 and No. 4 in the 23rd European Youth Championships by winning the titles in All Events and Singles Saturday at Plaza Bowling in St. Maximin, France,
Wegner fired a 1380 six-game series in the Singles preliminaries (230 average) to secure her third gold medal in All Events with 3837 18-game total (213.16) and to earn the No. 1 seed for the Singles finals.
She ousted Marija Tkachenko, Latvia, who won the bronze medal in All Events with 3742, 215-187, to advance to the title match against Kirsten MacGregor, England. MacGregor, who was targeting her first gold medal of the championships after finishing second in Doubles and Team, topped No. 2 Nadine Motzer, Germany, in the other semifinal, 223-194.
Wegner, however, had other plans and cruised to her fourth title in as many events with a 189-157 victory in the title match.
The top 24 players in All Events (combined results in Doubles, Team and Singles) advanced to the Masters finals. Wegner, silver medalist Roosa Lunden, Finland (3760), Tkachenko and the next five players earned one bye for the single-elimination finals in best-of-three games format.
